Cinnamon Chai Protein Smoothie

Cinnamon adds more flavor and has the benefit of assisting with blood sugar control. Cinnamon may also help to lower “bad” total and LDL, triglyceride and cholesterol levels, plus boost “good” HDL cholesterol in patients with type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Ingredients:

8 oz unsweetened coconut milk

½ frozen banana

½ cup frozen mango

1 tsp cinnamon plus extra for garnish

1 tsp maca

1 packet/scoop Vanilla Chai plant-based protein powder (I used Garden of Life today).

Directions:


  1. Add coconut milk to blender.

  2. Add frozen banana and mango.

  3. Add cinnamon, maca and protein powder.

  4. Blend until thick and creamy or desired texture.

  5. Pour and enjoy!

Coconut milk – almond milk, hemp milk, flax milk

Banana – avocado

Mango – papaya, pineapple

Cinnamon – nutmeg
