Blueberry Mango Protein Smoothie

Wake up with a protein rich, antioxidant blast… no matter the temperature outside!  This morning Chef Dillon, aka my 5 year old son, created this delicious smoothie with me.  Dillon follows a dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free diet which helps keep him well, active and able to focus at pre-school.

Even though temps are in the single digits we love making morning smoothies together.  And this one is super simple!

No added sweeteners necessary, even natural ones, with the rainbow of frozen fruits. And adding some plant-based protein helps to slow absorption rate of the energizing carbs and keep us full for our morning routine of walking around the neighborhood to run our errands by foot.

Serves 2

Ingredients:

12 oz unsweetened almond milk

1 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 cup frozen mango

1/2 frozen banana

1 pack Vega Vanilla Almondilla protein powder Directions:

Add almond milk to blender

Add frozen fruits & protein powder

Blend

Add more almond milk as needed for desired thickness

Looking for some substitutions?

Try blackberries or acai for blueberries.  Peaches or pineapple for the mango.
